1. Empty oatmeal into a microwave-safe bowl that holds at least 2 cups; stir in the amount of water specified on package directions.

2. Wash apple, remove core (and peel, if desired), and chop into bite-size pieces.

3. Stir apple pieces, raisins and spices into oatmeal; cook in microwave according to package directions, adding a little cooking time, if necessary, until apples are crisp-tender.

4. Carefully remove oatmeal from microwave and sprinkle with chopped pecans.

5. Serve oatmeal with milk.
