Treatment effects are inevitable. It's just part of losing weight with alli®.
In most cases, whether or not you have a treatment effect is within your control. The alli weight loss program is built around a healthy, balanced, low-fat diet. So, as long as you stay within your recommended fat grams for each meal (15g., on average), you shouldn’t experience treatment effects.
And if you exceed your fat grams? Well, you may experience oily spotting, loose stools and more frequent, hard-to-control stools. It varies by person. In one research study, nearly 50% of people who took alli never experienced treatment effects at all. And of those who did, most found them to be minor, manageable and educational.
You absolutely have to pay attention to what you’re eating. Do your research so you know how much fat is in the meal you’re planning to eat. And if you decide that you REALLY want to eat a higher-fat meal — or that you want to enjoy a special event or holiday without worrying about what you’re eating — it’s OK. Just skip your alli pill and start back up again with your next meal.
